Runaway Slave

Raising pointed questions
Let me be upfront that I had never heard of this documentary, but then out of the blue it showed up in the theatre here in Cincinnati this weekend. I looked at the premise, and thought this could be quite interesting and decided to check it out. First things first: this documentary is funded by FreedomWorks, the conservative, Tea Party-leaning organization.

"Runaway Slave" (2012 release; 108 min.) follows conservative Baptist minister C.L. Bryant around the country, trying to delve into several topics, the main one being why the black community votes 95 percent for the Democratic party. Along the way, Bryant examines the civil war-era Underground Railroad, which brought "runaway slaves" across the Mason-Dixie line to freedom (incidentally, Cincinnati hosts the very impressive Underground Railroad Freedom Center, examining those very troubles times). Then we learn some interesting facts in the movie: it was not the Democrats, but the Republicans who opposed slavery, and it...

Thank you CL Bryant and all involved in the production of this film
As a citizen of South Louisiana, having grown up during my formative years in Orleans Parish, New Orleans East specifically... I can say that I have seen first hand the damage and misery Progressive policy has wrought. Generation after generation of families in this area, have sadly fallen prey to political manipulation.

I saw it happening but had no idea what was happening. All I know is that I saw people who used to believe in strong families, strong parenting, good education, hard work, personal responsibility, pride, principles and faith, move to believing in the opposite of all of those ideals.

People who were moving up in the world, suddenly turned into angry, disgusted, unmotivated, resentful and distrustful jerks who became drains on society. They lost control of their children, the sons mainly, who became steeped in drugs and crime and violence. Sons who became so hate-filled, that they would actually be violent with their own Mothers.

One...

EVERY AMERICAN MUST SEE THIS EXTRAORDINARY FILM !!!
Saw this movie over the summer, and it is a stunning documentary. As a 50-something, I have witnessed the decline of the American family generally, and the black community specifically. It was dumbfounding how things have so dramatically changed over my lifetime. I was unable to figure out where all of this was coming from. Runaway Slave takes the time to walk you through history and connect the dots. While Rev. Bryant's journey is that of a black man, he makes the case that we are all becoming enslaved by the political class. It behooves every American to see this movie. I cried for all of us that have been deceived by those who will give us goodies in exchange for our freedom. It is worth every penny....and then some. Support this movie and those that speak out in the name of FREEDOM!!
